There are several short and long term psychological effects of Perceptual Dyslexia, some key examples are:

- Feelings of frustration and stress

What can be done to help?
Using effective treatments, such as the Irlen Method, Perceptual Dyslexia is treatable. However, if diagnosis and treatment are delayed the pain and hardship caused by symptoms of the condition are likely to have lasting effects. Counselling may be required to lessen the emotional damage caused by the disorder.
